2011 Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin
General Coin Information
The 2011 Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin appears from the Perth Mint of Australia as the second strike in its series. The High Relief Kangaroo debuted in 2010 as a collectible silver proof high relief strike containing the same kangaroo design found on the extremely popular Kangaroo Gold Bullion Coins.
However, its appearance in 2010 marked some significant differences from those gold Kangaroos. For the first time, the annually changing kangaroo designs appeared on a 99.9% pure silver coin. As if that was not enough to garner collector interest, the Perth also opted to strike it in high relief adding an increased level of detail to the design.
