Australian Koala 2011 Gilded Silver 1oz Coin

Marking the fourth year the Perth Mint of Australia has created such a strike is the 2011 Australian Koala Gilded Silver 1oz Coin. The strike features the same koala design found on the popular koala bullion coins also from the Perth, but have the image of the koalas themselves gilded in 24-karat gold.
Each coin ships in a black display case with an illustrated shipper and numbered certificate of authenticity indicating their extremely limited mintage of only 10,000.

Obverse Design
A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is shown on the obverse and was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Also included are the inscriptions "Queen Elizabeth II", "Australia" and "1 Dollar".
Reverse Design
Shown on the reverse is the image of two koalas - one adult and the other its young. The adult is resting in the nook of a Eucalyptus Tree while its young clings to a branch. Both marsupials are gilded in 24-karat gold. Surrounding the scene are the inscriptions of "Australian Koala" and "2011 1oz 999 Silver."
