2012 Australian Koala 5 oz Silver Coin & 1 oz Gilded Silver Coin (Perth Mint images)

The Perth Mint of Australia has released two new koala silver coins that are sure to delight many collectors. The 2012 Australian Koala 5 Oz Silver Proof Coin and the 2012 Australian Koala 1 Oz Gilded Silver Coin are both available now for ordering.

Both strikes feature the same koala image first seen on the 2012 Koala Silver Bullion Coins released by the Perth Mint last year. This image depicts the koala resting on the branch of a eucalyptus tree and is the work of Perth Mint artist Aleysha Howarth.

2012 American Eagle San Francisco Two-Coin Silver Proof Set (US Mint images)The United States Mint has certainly gained the interest of many collectors with recent information that it will be issuing a 2012 American Eagle San Francisco Two-Coin Silver Proof Set. A release date for the set was posted via the Mint's Product Schedule on its online store earlier this week with an actual US Mint product page also now viewable.

According to the US Mint, the American Silver Eagle San Francisco Two-Coin Proof Set will be available for ordering beginning on June 7, 2012. However, the US Mint is taking a unique approach as far as availability and mintage is concerned for the set. [click to continue…]

2012 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin (US Mint images)
The United States Mint today, April 12, 2012, released the newest version of one of the most popular annual numismatic coins in the Mint's  product portfolio. The 2012 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin became available for ordering from the US Mint at Noon (Eastern).

Each 2012 Proof Silver Eagle is being initially sold by the Mint for $59.95, plus the US Mint's standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order. The 225th anniversary of the United States Marshals Service will be celebrated in 2015 with special gold, silver and clad commemorative coins issued by the United States Mint.

Their release was authorized by Congress with the passage of the United States Marshals Service 225th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act (H.R. 886). It was signed into law by President Barack Obama on April 2, 2012 as Public Law 112-104.

2012 Year of the Dragon Ten-Coin Set (Perth Mint images)A limited mintage multi-coin set has been issued by the Perth Mint of Australia featuring ten different versions of the same unique design. The Australian Lunar Series II 2012 Year of the Dragon Silver Ten-Coin Set is available now, albeit likely for an extremely short time.

Shown on the reverse of the coins is the unique 2012 dragon image used by the Perth. The creature is coiled around the top, left and bottom of the design with the representation of a "pearl of wisdom" found on the right. The United States Mint has once again updated its Product Schedule available at its online store and added some items that will be of intense interest to collectors. Among those items are some extremely popular annual sets.

This includes the 2012 United States Mint Proof Set®, the 2012 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set® and the 2012 United States Mint Silver Proof Set®. 2012 RMS Titanic 1 oz Silver Proof Coin (Perth Mint images)

The Perth Mint of Australia has issued a strike to commemorate the horrific events surrounding one of the worst maritime disasters in history with the release of the 2012 RMS Titanic 1 Oz. Silver Proof Coin. With this release, the Perth joins other world minting facilities such as the Royal Canadian Mint in issuing Titanic commemorative coins.

Shown on the reverse of the Perth Mint's Titanic Silver Proof Coin is a colorized image emblematic of the White Star Line's poster design of the ship. Posters such as these, along with contemporary news media reports led many individuals to booking their passage aboard the largest and most luxurious passenger ocean liner of its day.

Titanic Royal Canadian Mint Commemorative Coins (Royal Canadian Mint images)The Royal Canadian Mint has issued three new coins acknowledging the sinking of the RMS Titanic one hundred years ago. The Titanic Commemorative Coins released by the Mint include a $10 99.99% pure silver coin, a 50-Cent Silver-Plated Colored Coin and a 25-Cent Colored Coin.

All three strikes mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the cruise ship that at the time was said to be unsinkable. It set sail on its maiden voyage on April 10, 1912.
