Lincoln Rail Splitter Penny Rolls Available Again
United States Coins Wednesday, August 26th, 2009Collectors can once again purchase Lincoln Rail Splitter Penny Rolls from the United States Mint. The two-roll sets were pulled several weeks back by the Mint, and placed in a "sold out" status.

However, the rolls are now back again and at the same $8.95 price. These sets consist of one roll of 50 coins from the Mint in Philadelphia and one roll of 50 coins from the Mint in Denver.
The pennies within the set are formerly named the Lincoln Formative Years Cents, although many simply refer to them as the 'Rail Splitters' due to their design.
The US Mint has not provided information as to why the rolls are again available. The latest sales figures released by the Mint, as of Sunday, Aug. 23, indicate 296,000 of the two-roll sets have been purchased by coin collectors.
