New Transformers Silver Coin Available

With an incredibly detailed color design of Optimus Prime on the reverse, the Perth Mint has issued a Transformers 1oz Silver coin to coincide with the release of the blockbuster movie. A Megatron coin is also available.

Owing its origin to a toy series started by Hasbro in the 80's, the Transformers have grown into a powerhouse franchise the world over. The first live-action movie came out in 2007 and incorporated computer generated images of the transforming robots.

Box office revenues were of the record variety, and plans for a sequel were soon initiated. The long-awaited follow-up premiered this summer and once again, records are being blown away.
