Online Numismatic Glossary

New to World Mint Coins is the addition of a numismatic glossary. The glossary is one of the most detailed available, with coin terms ranging from abrasions, to blank, to clad, to obverse, to planchet, to reverse and to many, many more.

If you're wanting to learn more about coin collecting, glancing through the various definitions is a good way to begin. You'll find many words that are used day in and out that are second nature to collectors, but rarely used elsewhere.

The glossary is available directly from the top "RESOURCES" menu, which also includes other tools such as a map with world mint locations and links, a coin image the provides the breakdown on the terms collectors use to describe the various facets coins (their anatomy), and popular web site links.
