The US Mint has announced three different coin exchanges where the public will be able to buy the Lincoln Professional Life Cent at face value on their release date of August 13th.
As it did for previous designs, the Mint will offer an exchange following the release ceremony for the new coin in Springfield, Illinois. This ceremony will take place at 10 AM (Central Time) on the grounds of the Old State Capitol building, a place Lincoln knew well as he worked there both as a lawyer and politician.
Coin exchanges will also be held in Washington D.C. on August 13th at the sales counters of the Mints Headquarters Building and at Union Station. These exchanges will start at 10 AM (Eastern Time) and run until 4PM, or until allowed inventory is exhausted.
Coin exchanges have also been tentatively scheduled on Capitol Hill and in the Rayburn House Office Building the week of September 13, from 10 AM - 3 PM (Eastern Time).
A minimum of two rolls and a maximum of six rolls will be in place for the exchange, however limits are subject to change at any time during the day. All coins will be from the Mint in Philadelphia and come packaged in bank wrapping.
