2013 American Eagle Gold Proof CoinsThe United States Mint will release the 2013 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins today, April 18, 2013. The Proof Gold Eagles will be available in four different sizes including one ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce.

In addition, a four-coin set will also be released. This set contains one of each of the four different sized 2013 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins. Each is struck from 22-karat gold. Continue reading

2013 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (US Mint image)Today, January 24, 2013, the United States Mint released the 2013 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin. The strike went on sale beginning at Noon (Eastern) and is offered for $62.95, plus the US Mint's standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order.

The 2013 Proof Silver Eagle is struck from one ounce of .999 fine silver. It is produced at the US Mint's facility in West Point and carries the 'W' mintmark. Continue reading

2013 US Mint Numismatic Pricing Unveiled

Anticipated pricing for a majority of the numismatic products to be released in 2013 has been published by the United States Mint. The pricing follows a rather thorough 2013 US Mint Product Schedule which had been unveiled by the Mint earlier this month.

The new pricing indicates that several silver products will see price increases in comparison to similar items released in 2012. Notable among those increases are the 2013 Proof Silver Eagles which will debut at a price point of $62.95. This is $3 higher than the 2012 Proof Eagle sold for.

2013 US Mint Product Schedule Released

2013 US Mint Product Schedule (US Mint website image)The United States Mint has unveiled a 2013 Product Schedule that already encompasses a total of forty-seven different products. This new schedule includes release dates ranging throughout the year from January 8, 2013 through December of 2013.

Products covered in the new schedule include releases such as annual sets, American Eagle coins, America the Beautiful Quarters®, America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins™ and the 2013 Commemorative Coin programs including the 2013 Girl Scouts of the USA Centennial Silver Dollar and the 2013 5-Star Generals Commemorative $5 Gold Coin. 2012 United States Mint Limited Edition Silver Proof Set (US Mint image)As announced last week, the United States Mint will release the 2012 United States Mint Limited Edition Silver Proof Set™ tomorrow, November 27, 2012. The eight silver coin set will be available for ordering beginning at Noon (Eastern) for $149.95, plus the US Mint's standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order.

Mintage of the set is limited to just 50,000. A household order limit of just two sets will be in place for the first week of availability with the US Mint planning to re-evaluate the order limit weekly. Continue reading

US Mint Suspends Numismatic Silver Products To Increase Price

2012 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin (US Mint images)The United States Mint has suspended the sale of several numismatic silver products as it plans a price increase for the items. Visitors to the US Mint's online store will see "This product is temporarily unavailable for product repricing" on the pages of the affected products.

Higher silver prices are to blame for the suspension and pending repricing. The precious metal has been on fire as of late and recorded a 28% increase in the last quarter. Continue reading
