General Coin Information
The second issue from the Perth Mint's Australian Koala Gold Proof Coin series is now available. These 99.99% pure gold coins are sure to be a hit with both collector's and investors.
Featured on this year's coin is a koala, sitting and holding onto a branch, while facing out.
The coins are available in four different sizes; 2 ounces, 1 ounce, 1/10 ounce and 1/25 ounce. Unfortunately, the 1 and 2 ounce sizes are not available for purchase in the United States.
The Perth Mint states each coin will come housed in a luxury presentation case with a jarrah timber lid. Each coin will also ship in a custom designed shipper with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Of note, the 1 ounce coin is struck in high relief.

Obverse Design
The obverse depicts a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. Also inscribed is "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA 2009" and the face value of the coin.
Reverse Designs
The reverse features the koala design showing the marsupial sitting and clinging to a branch. The koala is facing out. Also shown are the weight and "9999 Gold."
